[114-1 Orientation for New International Students]
On September 5, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) hosted the first and most important event of this new semester: the Orientation for International Students.
More than 60 students from Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, India, the United States, Honduras, Belgium, and Switzerland attended this important occasion. The President, Vice President for International Affairs, OIA Director, and faculty members all gave warm welcome speeches to the students as they began their journey at NTUE.
After receiving a detailed introduction to important academic and administrative matters from OIA staff, many international students were delighted to meet their Taiwanese buddies for the first time. Confronting the challenges of studying abroad, they no longer felt alone. Instead, they found supportive companions who would accompany them throughout their campus life, offering both reassurance and excitement for the journey ahead.
The orientation not only provided students with essential information—such as residence permits, national health insurance, and campus resources—but also included interactive activities that encouraged international students and their buddies to get to know one another and build networks of friendship and support. To conclude, members of the International Student Cultural Exchange Club led a short campus tour, helping new students quickly become familiar with the learning environment.
Through this orientation, we hope to help international students adapt smoothly to their studies and daily life in Taiwan, while encouraging them to explore with confidence, engage actively in campus activities, and create their own wonderful experiences.
NTUE will continue to serve as a strong support system, accompanying each student as they embark on a fulfilling and memorable journey in Taiwan.
