中央研究院將邀請美國哈佛大學彼得.加里森(Peter Galison)教授蒞臨發表專題演講,歡迎各界學者先進踴躍參與。
一、講者簡介
彼得.加里森(Peter Galison)教授為美國哈佛大學科學史與物理學講座教授。
他於2019年參與「事件視界望遠鏡計畫」(Event Horizon Telescope, EHT),成功拍攝人類史上首張黑洞影像,並與研究團隊共同榮獲「基礎物理突破獎」、「愛因斯坦獎章」及「英國皇家天文學會團隊成就獎」等多項殊榮。

The Academia Sinica is honored to invite Professor Peter Galison from Harvard University to deliver a series of public lectures. All scholars and interested participants are warmly welcome to attend.
I. Introduction to the Speaker
Professor Peter Galison is the Joseph Pellegrino University Professor of the History of Science and of Physics at Harvard University.
In 2019, he participated in the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration, which successfully captured the first-ever image of a black hole. For this groundbreaking achievement, Professor Galison and his team received several prestigious honors, including the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, the Einstein Medal, and the Royal Astronomical Society Group Achievement Award.
