Nagano Prefecture Councilors Visit NTUE to Explore Academic Cooperation(May 12th, 2026)
To promote international academic collaboration and student exchange, a delegation of six councilors from Nagano Prefecture, led by Councilor Shoji Sasaki, paid a courtesy visit to National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The delegation was first received by Professor Lin Man-li, former curator of the NTUE Museum, and Secretary Yi-tien Chao, who guided the visitors on a tour of the NTUE Museum, introducing its cultural and artistic highlights. Subsequently, a joint reception was held in a meeting room, attended by the Vice President of NTUE, the Dean of Student Affairs, the Dean of the Office of International Affairs, as well as the two division heads from the International Exchange Division and the International Affairs Division. Both sides engaged in discussions regarding potential areas for future academic cooperation.
The other five councilors in the delegation were Councilor Koji Miyamoto, Councilor Yoshiaki Yamagishi, Councilor Eiichi Maruyama, Councilor Toshitaka Ohata, and Councilor Kengo Mukaiyama.
This visit was initiated through a connection established last year, when Professor Po-Chou Guo from the Department of Arts and Design held an art exhibition in Nagano Prefecture and met Councilor Sasaki. During the event, Councilor Sasaki provided valuable assistance in supporting the exhibition, which subsequently led both parties to explore opportunities for academic exchange and collaboration.
During the meeting, both sides shared their ongoing initiatives, including international cooperation projects, faculty and student exchange programs—particularly collaborations between universities in Nagano Prefecture and NTUE—as well as the integration of artificial intelligence in education.
The meeting was held in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. Both parties gained a deeper understanding of each other’s potential areas of collaboration, laying a solid foundation for future academic cooperation.
