🎓 Scholarships for International Students

National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) & Taiwan Government Scholarships

🟦 1. NTUE International Student Scholarship

(For Degree-Seeking International Students Only)

The NTUE International Student Scholarship is offered to outstanding international students who are admitted to degree programs at National Taipei University of Education.

📌 Eligibility

Applicants must be:

  • International freshmen admitted to NTUE degree programs, or
  • Currently enrolled international degree students at NTUE
  • Enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs

📌 Application Period & Method

🟢 New Students (Before Admission)

  • Apply through the online application system:
    https://enroll.ntue.edu.tw/foreign
  • Select “Yes” in the scholarship section during application
  • Results will be announced together with admission results

🔵 Current Students

  • Application period: Before the end of April each year
  • Required documents:
    • NTUE Scholarship Application Form
    • Transcript of the previous semester
    • Copy of student ID card
  • Submit to:
    Office of International Affairs (OIA), NTUE
    Administration Building, Room A709

📌 Scholarship Duration

  • Award period: September to August (one academic year)
  • Renewal is subject to academic performance and review

📌 Scholarship Benefits

Monthly stipend (varies by academic level):

  • Undergraduate students: NTD 4,000 – 6,000 per month
  • Master’s students: NTD 6,000 – 8,000 per month
  • Doctoral students: NTD 6,000 – 8,000 per month

📌 Obligations

Recipients are required to complete at least 72 hours of service learning or departmental assistance work per academic year as assigned by the university.

📌 Important Notes

  • Scholarship quota is limited and subject to annual budget
  • Continued eligibility depends on academic performance and conduct
  • Failure to meet requirements may result in suspension of the scholarship

🟨 2. Taiwan Government Scholarships

(MOE / MOFA Scholarships for International Students)

The Government of Taiwan offers several scholarship programs for international students pursuing higher education in Taiwan.

🇹🇼 2.1 Taiwan Scholarship Program (MOE / MOFA)

The Taiwan Scholarship is jointly administered by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).

📌 Application Period

  • Annually from February 1 to March 31

📌 Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be foreign nationals with excellent academic performance
  • Hold at least a high school diploma (for undergraduate applicants)
  • Apply through Taiwan overseas missions (embassies or representative offices)

📌 Scholarship Duration

  • Bachelor’s degree: up to 4 years
  • Master’s degree: up to 2 years
  • Doctoral degree: up to 4 years

📌 Scholarship Benefits

MOE Taiwan Scholarship

  • Monthly stipend:
    • Undergraduate: NTD 15,000
    • Master’s / PhD: NTD 20,000
  • Tuition support:
    • Up to NTD 40,000 per semester

MOFA Taiwan Scholarship

  • Monthly stipend: approximately NTD 30,000
  • Additional benefits may include:
    • Partial tuition support
    • Airfare subsidy (subject to regulations)

📌 Important Notes

  • Applicants must apply through Taiwan overseas missions before arriving in Taiwan
  • MOE and MOFA scholarships cannot be held simultaneously for the same degree level
  • Scholarship renewal is subject to government regulations and academic performance

🇹🇼 2.2 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (Mandarin Language Program)

This scholarship supports international students who wish to study Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan.

📌 Duration

  • 3 to 12 months

📌 Benefits

  • Monthly stipend: approximately NTD 25,000

📌 Application Period

  • February 1 to March 31 annually

🟨 3. General Remarks

  • Students may apply for both NTUE and Taiwan Government scholarships, but may only retain one depending on eligibility rules
  • All scholarship decisions are subject to official review and available funding
  • Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early and prepare complete documents
