A Year in Review: Fall 2024 to Summer 2025 International Engagements & Campus Highlights

The Office of International Affairs at National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) is dedicated to promoting campus internationalization and providing students with rich academic resources and cross-cultural experiences. This newsletter highlights our fruitful achievements over the past year in building global partnerships, hosting vibrant student activities, offering career guidance, and sharing insights from our international student community.

🌍 Expanding Global Partnerships & International Exchange

  • Deepened ties with prestigious universities worldwide by signing partnership agreements (MOUs) with Ibaraki University (Japan), Trier University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and the University of San Francisco (USA).
  • Welcomed official delegations from Seoul National University of Education (Korea), UC Berkeley (USA), and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (France) to foster academic and cultural bilateral exchanges.
  • Continued to promote diverse exchange programs and successfully hosted the 2025 Student Exchange Program Briefing, encouraging local students to step out of their comfort zones and embrace global opportunities.

🎉 Vibrant Cultural Experiences & Student Activities

  • To help international students immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture, the International Student Culture Exchange Society (ISCES) organized exciting events, including a Welcome Picnic Day, a day trip to Jioufen and Pingxi, and a traditional Dragon Boat Festival rice dumpling making experience.
  • Hosted the Spring Mandarin Language & Culture Program for Chiba University students, featuring hands-on experiences such as calligraphy, spring couplet making, traditional hand puppets, and DIY bubble milk tea.
  • Gathered students from over 20 countries during the heartwarming 2025 Graduation Farewell Party and New Student Orientation, celebrating the profound friendships built at NTUE.

💼 Career Counseling & Future Development Sessions

The OIA organized a series of highly inspiring, all-English career counseling sessions for international students looking to build a career in Taiwan:

  • Invited a senior researcher from the Institute for Information Industry to share practical tips on crafting standout résumés and avoiding job scams.
  • Welcomed the founder of MYMIKA to discuss the innovative intersection of AI technology and sustainable fashion.
  • Featured a senior innovation strategist from IBM who spoke on "AI and Human Creativity," helping students rethink future career paths in the digital age.

🎓 International Student Insights & Achievements

  • Students from Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, and the United States generously shared their academic journeys in the IMPLAI and CCSCA master's programs, praising Taiwan's convenient transportation, friendly culture, and NTUE's supportive learning environment.
  • Honored multiple international students who received the prestigious Taiwan Scholarship, and celebrated their remarkable progress in Mandarin through a stunning Chinese song performance at the Higher Education Sprout Project Showcase.
